Description
NBA 2K27 launched globally for the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, 2026, bringing the latest basketball experience to Nintendo’s newest console. This edition is designed specifically for the Switch 2 and does not support the original Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One. The Standard Edition features Victor Wembanyama on the cover.
Performance & Visual Modes
For the first time on a Nintendo handheld, NBA 2K27 delivers a more console-like basketball experience with two graphical options:
- Performance Mode: Targets 60 FPS during gameplay for smoother and more responsive on-court action.
- Fidelity Mode: Prioritizes enhanced graphics and visual quality at 30 FPS, providing greater detail during gameplay.
NBA 2K27 also features realistic player movements, updated rosters, and immersive basketball gameplay, making it an excellent choice for fans who want to enjoy the NBA experience on the go or on a TV using the Nintendo Switch 2.
- Massive File Size:The digital version requires roughly 81 GB to 85 GB of storage space. If you are using internal storage, you will likely need to clear existing games to install it.
- No Crossplay: While the game features parity with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in terms of core modes (like MyNBA, MyCAREER, and The City), crossplay is restricted to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. The lack of crossplay can lead to emptier servers in online matchmaking zones.
- Visual Compromises: While it utilizes features like DLSS to look sharp on the handheld screen, docked mode reveals clear visual downgrades compared to high-end systems, including lower crowd densities, less intense lighting, and the omission of ray-traced shadows.
